Curlers Lashes Manis-Pedis Chrome Rims and Becoming

There are so many small steps along the way to making something great.  Most people think those who do things with excellence are just naturals. But that's not always true.  True and lasting success and greatness is a process.

"For who has despised the day of small things? But these seven eyes of the LORD, which scan the whole earth, will rejoice when they see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand."  Zechariah 4:10

Ever see women preparing for a date? There are hair curlers, facial masks, manicures, pedicures, eyelashes, perfume and often times spanx involved to making things appear smooth and "natural".

Men have their version too. You know. Washing and buffing the car before picking her up and then there's the abs. Talk? How about polishing the rims just to meet up with the guys to let them know, without having to say, things are going well or getting better even if only on the surface.

I recently read a book entitled, Unlocking Greatness by Charlie Harary. It's worth mentioning as most people who see other people do great things put them in the category of "unicorns". But the reality is that it (success and greatness) requires persistent effort.

Just think of the number of child prodigies, accomplished athletes, super-entrepreneurs, and established scholars you hear about. They study and practice. Practice. Practice. Practice. Even when they reach their goals. They practice consistently. It's an ever polishing procedure.

Side Note: Referencing a unique or outstanding person as being "a unicorn" (one - horn) comes from the Hebrew Word qeren (pronounced CARE-IN). Which means single ray of light or divine energy. That's why you often see pictures of Moses on the hill with horns. The elders described him as one with light emanating from his head.  But translators thought they meant physical "horns".

When I tell people that I met the REAL Messiah or that the LORD speaks to me, I see their eyes glaze over like "cuckoo - cuckoo". But the truth of the matter is that when people in my circle have a need, they come to me - even if in secret. They usually don't acknowledge me when they get their breakthroughs because then they would have to acknowledge my GOD who guides me. I am driven to desire excellence through my faith.

But ultimately, they realize I was not ashamed to walk around in my hair rollers, facial mask, and home made mani-pedi. True. They see that the results are outstanding - magnificent - beautiful - genius. I'm talking about their results - not mine. Although they call me a "know it all" and seek fault they can't find because it's not from me at all. It comes from the Source. G-O-D.

But they also realize I did the work by allowing the process which can be very uncomfortable and even somewhat humbling at times. I always get results (eventually) because I am not afraid of the process.

No matter how long it takes, GOD can not fail, and therefore I can not lose. Even if the only result is the lesson I was meant to learn. To me, that's priceless. To others, it's just not worth the heat. Yet everyone who understands the value of anything real and lasting knows, a priceless diamond is formed under pressure.

I hope you remember that when you set a new goal or when you design a one year - five year - ten year and yes even that fifty year plan for your life!  Make  sure it's a worthy goal and it has lasting value for yourself and to others. Especially for others. Because it may take time to come to fruition.

Writing My Love is One has been a once in a lifetime opportunity (a mitzvah). There are very few (Moses at Mt Sinai being one of them) who can say they have shared this type of unique experience. The ancient elders I have met in my life thus far, are waaaaaay beyond anything I could have ever dreamed or imagined.  They are so quiet and subtle.  And I am not. I don't even spend time wondering "how me" or "why me". I know it's "lucky me". Oh, but the pressure!

Mind you, there are two types of pressure. Heavy pressure means I'm trying to do what only GOD can. That means I (and my ego) need to get out of the way.

The other kind of pressure is when I am fascinated in the same way as one watches a thrilling movie wondering what happens next or how it will end. Honestly, I am thrilled by the latter. It's fascinating. (It's easy to do when you're young - but you must remember how to connect to it.) I know the result is going to be wonderful for that person or me if I am the person expecting an outcome.

Regardless, the lesson is the same. It's not my problem. Let GOD handle it. Then I sit back and watch with anticipation!

Yet, the experience was so that I would share what I have learned with others like you in a timely fashion without rushing. I know. It sounds like an oxymoron. But that's how it usually happens. Be attentive. Be aware. Pay attention. Move swiftly - yet neatly and remember time is not a factor.

Getting it to you today is part of the diamond cutting process. And boy are you making it sparkle!

So please share this blog post. Add intentional "excellence" to whatever it is you do no matter how small or large the task and no matter how much or little you are being paid to do it.

If you act as if it must be worthy of the LORD to see, approve and be proud of it, then you are doing something that will eventually be seen and heard beyond your wildest imagination. You always have an audience. Even when it's an audience of One.  And that my friend is the secret to BECOMING the ultimate version of YOU.
