Recycle, Upcycle, Repair and ReLove

I commuted from Upstate New York to Manhattan to work every day in the 1990s. I was often astonished in my route to and from Grand Central Station by a landfill in the middle of NYC at the time. What happened? How could that be?

It wasn’t tiny either. It was stacked!

It was also near some of the most important global banks, and newspaper and fashion editorial outlets at the time. Was it just me? Didn’t it bother anyone else?

I could have taken another route to avoid it, but the landfill just happened to be

behind one of my favorite structures and places to visit, the Public Library at Bryant Park. My heart teared a little every time I passed by it.

Fortunately, the landfill is no longer there. Today, you would never know that landfill ever existed. When I look online, tour guides act as if it never happened.

It’s now a top “must visit” popular rest spot for tourists and commuters alike. Bryant Park is now surrounded by Parisian style cafes, chairs, benches, green grass, flowers, mature trees and a book exchange.

You can call Bryant Park the Cinderella of midtown Manhattan. It now often hosts high profile events such as New York Fashion Week, ice skating in the winter and lots more.  It’s become the ultimate lunch time and after workplace to “chill”, quench, rest and restore for local commuters and tourists alike.

GOD heard and answered my prayers! Now, faith is stronger. My prayer is global. GOD can do it!

Please note that I am posting this blog just after celebrating 8 days of Passover (USA). I mention this as I just reshelved my kitchen with the breads and cookies of which I had grown accustomed to having. However, after eight days of matzah, fresh fruit and vegetables, I am not salivating for these formerly processed delights as I imagined I would be.

It happens every year. But this year, I notice that these processed foods are comparable to “landfill”. Conversely, this past week of healthy easily digestible meals can be compared to a “zero waste” meal plan according to my body.

Everything has its place. I don’t have brain fog. I don’t feel sluggish though there was an interim of purging when I did. And Hashem (Almighty God) is sharing poetic similes with me of which I greatly enjoy, appreciate, and truly understand (eventually).

“Why go back to the filth that ‘separates us’?” Eating kosher and choosing God made foods (including daily praise and reading of the Torah/Old Testament) feeds the mind, body, and soul and helps keep me on the divine path of excellence and enlightenment.

Yes, it's true. What you eat deeply impacts your mood and the way you think.

Even a psalm or proverb a day with each meal makes a significant difference. Try it for at least a week or 30 days and see for yourself.

While many people celebrate Earth Day as a one off, I see it as a new and improved lifestyle. It’s something that I have not personally mastered but I am well on my way.

We currently live in a consumer driven society. Manufacturers use planned obsolescence to seduce consumers into continually repurchasing their products in an attempt to boost profits. This is of course at the detriment of the overall well-being of society today. There was a time when things were made to last.

Clothes, furniture, cars, and homes were formerly all made to last. There are even some original “Thomas Edison” lightbulbs still in use today one hundred years later.

How will we (humanity) survive as a people if we keep filling fertile living land with plastic and other elements that will take centuries or millennia to compost? It affects the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat.

I believe there is a way. In fact, there are many ways to heal our collective (temporary) home.

First, we must decide to do so. Don’t depend on government or major corporations to do this. They are often the ones who intentionally misguided society into the very situation which I speak today. It’s a futile attempt to control the masses.

Society as a whole has become mindless mass consumers. But the masses are awakening to the truth for their very own survival.

Perhaps it started during the COVID 19 pandemic. People had time to think and some people used that time well. They saw the "writing on the wall". They took action.

This has always been a God given mandate.  Intuitively, we already know. However, it is a personal decision each must make.

We are simply aligning with the original soul blueprint, (a.k.a The Golden RuleLove Thy Neighbor as Thyself etc.). By doing do, we can help re-route the otherwise inevitable destruction.

“’Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but rather love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.” Leviticus 19:18

Let's be mindful of our choices. Let's think long term.

  • Recycle. Can’t use it anymore? Give it away of sell it.
  • Compost (Compost kits are available in many communities.)
  • Start a Repair CafĂ© (helps retired seniors, and unemployed etc).
  • Buy the best quality you can afford. It lasts longer.
  • Donate and/or Purchase used clothes
  • Upcycle old furniture
  • Build better quality (homes, cars, clothing, etc.)
  • Use glass bottles instead of Plastic
  • Use paper bags and compostable bags instead of plastic
  •  Support public markets, farmer’s markets and co-ops.

Worried about the stock market and retail stores? Don't. It's already changing. It will balance itself out with new long term priorities. Everyone will have what they need.

Many people become more aware when they have children. We teach children values. But they mostly repeat what they see us do. So let's do and be better. Check out some of our earlier blog posts on recovering from ancestral PTSD

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Take a moment. Pause. Will this thing, idea, product, words, person or decision add value to my life?

If it’s just a short-term whim, maybe you don’t need it. If there is a way that will not only add value to your life, but to your family and community too, then perhaps that is the better choice for you.

Sometimes when feel I may be getting too cynical about the state of the planet, I reflect on Bryant Park and remember what GOD did. It helps restore my faith.

Then I turn off the world news showing the old system (government and
corporations) and their deceit and tricks crumble. I also recently observed as many people questioned the future the day Pop Francis died.

Stop regarding man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed? Isaiah 2:22

It all reminds me to be mindful of what truly matters. I return my attention to the Great Creator and Architect of the planet and all life forms, the cosmos, and universe.

I sometimes think of water and its cycles. It can be ice, a body of water, steam or rain. It washes, purges, births, and transforms.

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Psalm 1:3;Jeremiah 17:7-8

Humans are also composed of over eighty percent water. GOD split the water and helped Moses bring the Israelites through to freedom. The Torah is also compared to water for the soul. It’s perfect.

Let’s remember to be considerate of our planet, each other and GOD’s great design for our lives. It’s dependable and true.

Experience your EXODUS - a path to Personal Growth and FREEDOM

Passover starts this Saturday evening (April 12, 2025) at sunset here in the USA. It’s celebrated seven days in Israel and eight days everywhere else. You don't have to be Jewish to experience Passover and have your own Exodus experience.

It’s also Spring and the beginning of the New Year. The New Year was and has always truly been around the Spring Equinox.

That amongst other things was changed by the Romans. The world followed. Humanity has been out of sync ever since.

You don’t need meds. You just need alignment.

Align with God. God lives in your heart and speaks to you in a still small Voice.

Did you think you were the only one? No my dear you are not alone.

The whole system has ungodly for some time now. But that is about to change.

The world has experienced a form of mass hysteria because a few egomaniacs want to control the world. Only GOD (Creator of all living) is qualified to do so. All else is idol worship.

For the LORD guards the path of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. Psalm 1:6

Spring has always been a season for new beginnings and “miracles”. That means freedom for a lot of people. What is your desired freedom?

What do I mean? Everyone has something they need to level up and overcome their past mistakes, relationships, debts, boredom etc. What’s yours?

It doesn’t have to be anything extreme like an addiction (drugs, sex, gambling, sugar, alcohol etc). It can be as small or large as procrastination, being comfortable where you are and not even desiring to do or be better.

We all need to be continuously improving. And no one should measure his or her own growth by someone else. You are not competing with anyone but yourself.

Did you leave your dreams? Now is the time to pick them up, brush them off, update them, and walk in it. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Life happens. Ask GOD for help.

Do not fear for I am with thee; do not be dismayed, for I am thy God, who strengthens thee; I will help thee always; I will always uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

If you don’t need GOD, your dream is probably too small. But if it’s too big for others, keep it to yourself. Don’t let them diminish YOUR SONG especially while its composition (path) is incubating.

Be patient. Get quiet. Meditate. Build your faith. If it doesn’t happen one way (your way); it will happen another way. It will be GOD’s way. You’ll find that is best.

The truth is there is no stagnation in the universe. Passover is simply a time when the “windows of heaven” are open just a little bit wider. There is a mass intelligence (one-ness) that celebrates freedom at this season. Instead of struggling alone, you can actually get into the mass flow towards your own freedom.

We are here to reflect our Creator. We are here to learn how to overcome our own selfish desires. We are here to learn that we are not in this world by ourselves. We are here to appreciate, forgive, and love others and thereby learn to appreciate, forgive and love ourselves and our Creator.

You see. There is a living story running here. There is a theme. Sometimes it even appears to contradict itself.

Love others as you love yourself. If you don’t love yourself, you can not fully love others. You can not lose yourself by loving others and not loving and respecting yourself. But you can not be selfish as it constricts true love from flowing back to you.

You see what I mean right? There’s a balance.

It’s a cosmic rhythm. It ebbs and flows. The Sabbath Day of rest is built into the construction composition process. That’s hard for some to believe, but it’s true.

It’s like a song and a dance all at once. It crescendos and decrescendos and then takes a pause. That’s the Sabbath Day.

You must be in tune with it. The Torah (Old Testament) is the music sheet from

which we read. You may find this hard to believe, but your part (name) is actually written (encoded) in the pages of the Bible. The Original Tanach in Hebrew is actually God’s Name.

Yes, the entire Book is one long unpronounceable Name. That is why many call GOD, Hashem (the Name). GOD is also called, YHVH or Eyeh Asher Eyeh. I will be that which I will be. Don’t limit God. God is everything an everywhere.

Your soul knows how to read the Bible. Your soul also recognizes its part in the divine Story.

Just read a little bit every day. You may likely see or feel something others don’t in certain parts. You’re not wrong. You are just hearing your song.

Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. Psalm 96:1

Each person has a song that was placed in his or her heart at conception. The Divine Composer and Conductor needs to “sing” (experience your purpose) through you. If one person is missing, doesn’t show up as was placed here to do, the entire cosmos is out of tune and needs a replacement until said entity (you) appears or is reassigned elsewhere. It’s all in the Book. Read it!

The Book of Psalms is literally a Divine Song Book. It can activate your personal song when you read it daily.

Passover is a season to reflect, learn from the past, and overcome your doubts and fears. Fill your heart with faith, love, gratitude and humility.

You can not criticize others for hearing their song. Talking about others (gossip) and complaining lowers your vibrational song. You're out of tune. It moves you farther away from the Creator (Divine Composer and Conductor). You have to align with the Creator especially now when the flow is so massive and easier to access (be in tune).

You may even feel different right now. Your soul is asking for a refresh (alignment). It’s a Divine Orchestration.

How does that happen? The Creator, Composer, Conductor helps us by asking us to clean the house. Yes, clean your living place (house, room or apartment).

Small moves can make massive shifts. Go from stagnation to progress. We’re not talking about the dust (though you should probably get that too) but the crumbs in the car, couch, floor, corners etc.

Remove anything that puffs up (pride) when water (Torah /Word of God) is added. Don't spend too much time around "toxic people (narcissists). They drain your life force energy.

Remove all bread, cakes, cookies, rice, wheat, oats, barley, cereal etc from your food pantry as a proclamation of the commitment to be humble before the Presence of our Creator. It is how we can hear our own Divine Song.

We eat Matzah for an entire week. It's not a diet. It’s humbling and life changing.

How did GOD know in advance that our food would have such a major impact on our moods and ability to see, hear and think clearly. How did GOD know that there would be corrupt corporations that would put things in our food to lower our vibration, virility, fertility? GOD sees the end from the beginning.

Take a moment. Write a Letter to God.  Tell GOD everything on your heart. Then tear it up and let it go.

Give thanks for everything you already have and thank God in advance for helping you move forward to live your Divine Song to its fullest. Gratitude helps open up the channels and removes pride. Reaching your full potential often means letting go of mediocrity and changing the company you keep.

Some people don’t want to see you succeed. It means they can no longer belittle you. It makes them reflect. They may not be ready. Remember Pharoah?

Succeed anyway. That’s the point.

But guess what? Sometimes that Pharoah is you. Are you limiting yourself by your negative thoughts and living in fear? It's time to set yourself free! Many people just repeat past mistakes in their head.

That's what many people including Hebrews do today. They repeat the errors of their ancestors. They even repeat the oppression of their former oppressors.

They don't really understand where they failed. They continue to punish themselves (i.e. Tammuz) and/or others. Set yourself, your children, your future free!

As we each seek the Presence of the Creator, we begin to realize there really is One BIGGER Universal SONG which includes each of us. Nothing is impossible.

You can’t imagine the lengths GOD will go to help you fulfill your part. Didn’t you hear how GOD literally moved mountains and parted the waters for Moses and the Israelites?

What’s your dream? You can’t hold onto people. But you can hold onto GOD.
