The Israelites were being chased by their slave owners (Pharoah) when GOD parted the Red Sea for Moses so they could cross over safely. GOD repeated the miracle for Joshua by parting the Jordan River so their children could finally enter the Promised Land. GOD fed them manna (angel's food) from heaven in their wilderness for forty years until they reached their destination. They were infamous to those who met them and heard of it first hand. Everyone knew their journey was impossible without GOD.
If the Israelites were fearful or skeptical, they may have just stared at the walls of water on either side and said, "what if it comes down and drowns me before I get to the other side?". "What if" can save you or destroy you. What side you are on is LOVE vs FEAR. The battle is within you and the choice is yours. You simply have more faith in one or the other.
The entire world is facing a choice right now though most are not completely aware. There are two doors. One is called LIFE. The other door is called DEATH. Neither door is labeled as you approach. The Name is on the other side.
The door marked DEATH has a cool charismatic guy saying this is the way to safety. Enter here. People think evil is ugly and morose. That would make it easier, but you can't judge by appearances in this "game" called LIFE or DEATH.
The door marked LIFE is small and barely noticeable. The guy standing next to it sits calmly saying nothing. He just points.
People who run through the first door soon realize there's a cliff on the other side leading to an endless pit of fire. He smiles, shuts the door and says, NEXT!
What's the difference? The difference is in the fine print which people hardly ever read. You must also be able to discern the endless pages of double talk fluff. Therefore wisdom is required.
Where do get wisdom? It's dispersed in the first five scrolls. Ironic. Right?
I'll be honest. Much like the tabernacles during Moses' day, I actually discovered the second door by approaching inquisitively through the first. There is a narrow bridge. Few have found it, but it does exist.
