I recently went to a Torah Study Group. It was somewhat intense.
I think everyone got more than we each expected. Why? We had diverse perspectives about the same text.
It reminded each of us how modern the ancient text really is. It only reveals itself to those who approach it with a sincere heart. It's even better when everyone is allowed to participate.Torah literally contains the past, present, and future. Every person who ever lived is mentioned. Yes. Really.
It's all encoded. But every person will get something they need for exactly that reason. It will speak to each person.
That's why Torah study groups are so powerful. I highly recommend each synagogue provide live Torah meetings at least twice per week.
Churches should definitely be included/invited. The emerging Messianic Era is about inclusion. By inclusion, I mean the collective 12 tribes of Israel from the four corners of the earth plus those strangers who are willing to commit to the Laws of God. However, you need the text to be read in Hebrew and your spoken (local) language .
Yom Kippurim (plural) simply encouraged spiritual cleansing several times per year as needed by the individual. In the Messianic Era, which is spiritual and not religious, it will be known as good "spiritual hygiene".
Fasting for at least one day cleanses the gut and allows a healthy detox. It helps to clear the mind and heart for better alignment (aka atonement) with the Almighty.
(We will be starting an economic, spiritual and physical health and wellness series soon to assist you. You will do a lot of thinking, purging, and healing. It will be fun. Participants will love the results.)🤗
The minimum is Yom Kippur. It's the annual main event for all to come forth for repentance, cleansing, and alignment.
We get cleansed by reading the word of God (Torah). Reading aloud is best.
Hearing Torah is good too. But the best is to study Torah in a group setting. It provides greater spiritual enlightenment by creating a larger shared spiritual vessel.
By intermittent fasting, praying, and gathering, you will be attuned to the still small Voice of the Almighty in ways you could not have ever imagined.
Prayer is us speaking to God. Meditation is God speaking to us. Unity and diversity builds a protective worldwide vessel.
